A Summa Cum Laude graduate with three Master’s degrees and over 17 international research publications, Saiful is a rare hybrid in the industry: a Global Textile Scientist. His expertise isn’t just in how a garment looks, but in the molecular behavior of the fibers themselves.
From the Faculty Lounge to the Factory Floor
Before co-founding Faraja, Saiful’s career spanned the entire global supply chain. As an Assistant Professor, he was a three-time recipient of the "Best University Faculty Award," teaching the next generation of designers. As a Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM), he was the youngest in his region to master the complex logistics of international manufacturing.
Saiful has spent nearly 20 years in the trenches of the industry—from "backward linkage" fiber development to "forward linkage" luxury retail. He has traveled to nearly every First Nation country, inspecting factories and refining what he calls "practical learning."
"Travel is like having multiple Master's degrees," Saiful says. "It’s where you learn that 90% of a garment’s value isn't in the brand—it’s in the feel of the fabric."
